Why are we doing this?
There is an obesity epidemic in the UK. Affecting children all the way into adulthood. Why? Traditional lifestyles have changed. The home structure now has both parents working, the kitchen is no longer the feeding centre of the home for many people.
Homely cooking skills handed down from generation to generation are now being lost and overtaken by the ‘quick-fix’ of takeaways, or eating out. Now there’s nothing wrong with an occasional treat but we think you can have more family fun, cooking and eating together.
Starts in the kitchen
This is the whole premise of Healthy Kitchen. We believe that the home kitchen is where young and old can be taught to cook with fresh ingredients to make healthier dishes.
We want the kitchen, ironically to be seen as an alternative to eating out or getting in a ‘cheeky’ takeaway

All the recipes featured on the Healthy Kitchen TV show are easy to shop for, easy to make and easy to sit back and enjoy with your family.
We don’t want to make complicated dishes; we use ingredients that we know you have in your kitchen already. Of course, sometimes we will suggest some special ingredients like special beef and lamb cuts, all you have to do is ask your local butcher for these cuts.
So no special trips to fancy shops, you can buy your ingredients where you normally shop or just at your local supermarket.
